ESA seeking clarity from new London Mayor
ESA is writing to the new Mayor of London to seek more detail of his plans for the waste sector.
At a hustings organised by Green Alliance earlier in the year, Mr Johnson highlighted the need for action against fly-tipping and to increase the sharing of best practice on recycling and said that he thought that waste should be used in a new generation of combined heat and power plants, whilst reducing the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
Significant changes are also expected in relation to the proposed London Waste and Recycling Board (LWRB), as Mayor Livingstone had refused to take part in its work, a position Mayor Johnson is expected to reverse.
