ESA Parliamentary Event

ESA held a joint meeting on waste and climate change at the House of Commons with Angela Eagle MP, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury and APSRG, WRAP and CIWM. The meeting was chaired by Dan Rogerson MP.

Noting the sector’s help in mitigating climate change, ESA Chief Executive Dirk Hazell commended both the profile increasingly given to the subject by the Government and ESA’s recent publication on metrics. Better information would inform both public policy and the private sector’s investment decisions. He also reported that ESA’s own work giving transparency to the carbon footprint of Members’ individual facilities was at an advanced stage and would represent a significant improvement on existing data.
