BETTER PROCUREMENT SHOULD HELP DELIVER MUCH-NEEDED INFRASTRUCTURE

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) has today published “Improving competition and capacity planning in the municipal waste management market”, the report of the Second Kelly Market Study

 Noting publication of the report, Environmental Services Association CEO Dirk Hazell said:

"The Report correctly identifies a number of constraints to developing necessary new infrastructure to recover more of the value in waste. Getting this right and providing an appropriate settlement in next year's Comprehensive Spending Review would help ESA's Members to deliver higher recycling on a competitive basis and to high regulatory standards protecting the environment and human health."
