Environmental Permitting Programme
Defra has established an Environmental Permitting Programme which is reviewing the current permitting and licensing system for waste management facilities. The Programme is buiding on the Waste Permitting Programme which was suspended in August 2004.
Suspension of the Waste Permitting Review
Defra suspended the Waste Permitting Review in August 2004. The permitting requirements of the WEEE Directive will now be delivered through amendments to the Waste Management Licensing Regulations.
