ACTION PLAN TO REDUCE ACCIDENTS IN THE WASTE MANAGEMENT SECTOR
The Environmental Services Association (ESA) today launched its Health and Safety Strategy for the waste management industry. The Strategy sets out the industry’s health and safety goals, ESA’s activities towards meeting these goals and a clear timetable for delivery over the next two years.
“We hope this Strategy will help waste managers and recycling companies to improve occupational health and safety in the waste management sector and that sharing best practice within the industry will also help to reduce accidents,” said ESA’s Chairman Mr Cyrille du Peloux.
“The Health and Safety Executive welcomes and supports this initiative by ESA to work to improve the sector’s health and safety performance,” said Mr James Barrett, Head of Manufacturing at HSE.
