PPC: Energy Efficiency
The Scottish Government has issued a consultation which would empower SEPA to regulate energy efficiency through the PPC permitting regime.
Up until now, energy efficiency has remained a reserved matter which means that SEPA has no legal basis to enforce Scotland’s energy efficiency obligations under Community legislation.
The Scottish Government proposes to remedy this and allow SEPA to include energy efficiency conditions within PPC permits, or vary existing permits.
